What We Do
At Brian Pierson Design Studio, we are a full resource for forensic and paleological facial reconstruction. Brian Pierson is a Ph.D. candidate at Tulane University for Physical Anthropology. He has been working as a sculptor in the special effects field for over ten years and applies both skill sets to our facial reconstructions.
Paleological Facial Reconstructions
We are experienced at creating display pieces of early human ancestors for various museums worldwide including the lapedo child for the welcome center in Lagar Velho, Portugal; as well as a travelling display of the Nariokotome boy (Homo erectus) which appears at campuses all over the U.S.
Forensic Facial Reproductions
We also have experience in forensic facial reproduction as is evidenced by the successful conclusion of our first case of an unknown decedant for the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's office in Louisiana. The media coverage of the facial reproduction led to a presumptive ID within one day of exposure, which in turn yielded a positive MtDNA match.
